St. Augustine Alligator Farm is an historic zoological park with an outstanding rookery that is very active in the late spring (April-May) especially for breeding pairs of Roseate Spoonbills (20+ pairs in 2015). The broadwalk is similar to Gatorland in Orlando and allow excellent access to the breeding birds and is wide enough to allow the use of tripods. Photographers can get an annual pass and have early access to the park (check hours) and after hours access until sundown. This is a first-class operation that offers great access and photographic opportunities of the birds.
